One more...

One more harmonica video from the day after Christmas.  It was quite funny how he would just play it as he walked around the house.  :)

Climbing on the Playground

Here's a neat video of Luke climbing up the chains on the playground equipment, then wanting help to walk across the bridge.  Classic cuteness!

Emma's New Bike

Lots of the cousins got bicycles for Christmas, so a big group of us went to a school playground to play - some with their new bikes.  I got this clip of Emma riding her bike - not sure exactly what all she's saying, though.  :)

More Harmonica

A couple clips of Luke practicing on his new harmonica as he wanders around the house - guess it was a successful present!  :)

Calling Grandma

We got Luke a play cell phone and a new motorcycle.  He decided to call "Grandma" (not sure which one) to tell her about his new motorcycle ("gykee").

Learning the Harmonica

We got Luke a harmonica for Christmas, and he figured it out immediately!  Pardon my cheesy squeals in the background - I assume I'm just super excited that he knew how to do it right away.  :)

Opening Christmas Present

I realize I'm posting these almost a year later, but I can't let there be a gap on the blog, and there are pretty cute things Luke and now Jonathan are doing NOW (12-21-10) that are very cute and need to be shared with the out-of-state grandparents and relatives!  The thing I'm noticing the most in these old videos is just how much Luke has grown in a year - even though it seems like he hasn't grown that much in still pictures.  He's talking MUCH better and is clearly just an older boy now.  Fun to see how much he's changed.  :)

Private Concert

Luke woke up early from his nap and I let him hang out in there for awhile before getting him. When he started "singing", I had to capture his little mini-concert for you! The middle of this video has some rhythmic talking that I think is him singing. Not too concerned about notes at this point. :)

Swinging

Luke was giggling more before I got the camera out, but I still captured some of the cuteness. I never tire of his happy laugh!

Wrapping a Present

Luke had always been REALLY excited about this Christmas present for his Uncle Andrew ever since we bought it - a candy bar! So, when I finally got around to wrapping it, he took the initiative, went and got his step stool and came over ready to help. I went ahead and explained everything to him even though he may not understand it all right now - I've gotten in the habit of telling him lots of details since I'm often surprised by how much information he actually DOES retain. If I'm going to take the time to help him wrap a present, I might as well explain what we're doing. :) Notice how he keeps saying "more tape!" :)

Somersault

Luke learned how to do a somersault! The second one in this video is the best one I've seen him do. He still will only do them on his bed - not just on the floor. :)

Happy Dance Request

Luke's cousins figured out that he has a unique "happy dance", and got excited about asking him to perform for them. They all stayed together with Grandma and Grandpa the evening after Thanksgiving while Nathan & I and Matt & Tara went to celebrate our friend's engagement. Apparently, when they asked him during dinner if he would do his happy dance, he would respond, "Um... no." But then after dinner, they decided to ask again when they were down from the table and playing, and he would happily comply! Here I captured this interaction during Sophia's birthday party the next day. His response here is, "Okay."

"Yes, please"

This recent politeness from Luke is definitely worthy of capturing on film - so cute! When I ask him if he wants certain foods, or even asking if he's all done, he'll often respond with this: "Um... yes, please!"

Luke's Nativity

This is Luke playing with his new nativity that my grandma sent him for Christmas. It's a nice wooden set that a friend of hers on Etsy sells. It's nice for him to have some Christmas decorations he can interact with. :)

Hannah Playing the Violin

Here's our oldest niece, Hannah, playing the violin on Thanksgiving. I only captured the very last part of her song on video cuz I was taking pictures, too, but you get the idea. :)

2009 Film Festival Bloopers

I actually had several silly clips that I didn't include in the "nice" movie for official submission.  So, I made a "blooper reel" of all of those.  I actually ended up liking this movie even better than the original one.  :)

2009 Hughes Family Film Festival

This is the first year the Hughes family decided to do a family film festival at Thanksgiving.  Every family produces a movie and we all show it after dinner during our Thanksgiving get-together.  This first year, Luke wasn't big enough to do any acting, so I just made a video montage of clips I'd taken throughout the year.  Enjoy!

Happy Dance!

Here is Luke's signature "happy dance" that he does ALL THE TIME! I realized I had never gotten a video of it, so I wanted to make sure to capture this for posterity's sake. I'm pretty sure he won't be dancing like this when he's a teenager! :P

Bible Reading

Here's Luke interacting with some of the stories in his Bible: "The Bible in Pictures for Little Eyes". Pretty cute. :)

Alphabet Puzzle

Here's an example of Luke playing with his alphabet puzzle. He knows most of the letters by sight as well as what object they stand for in that puzzle. :)

Reading Thomas

And here he is looking through his "Thomas at the Docks" book that he got as a party favor at one of his cousin Owen's birthday parties. :)

Reading Grover

Looking through his "Monster at the End of this Book" book starring, lovable, furry old Grover. This used to be my book when I was a kid. :)

Songs

This was just after the Lego video, and I separated it into it's own video because it's completely different content. Here, he's enjoying dancing and signing to songs. :)

Lego Tower

It's fun to watch Luke putting legos together with those chubby little hands. :)

Bike Riding

Luke is getting better at trying to ride his bike. He still has a long way to go before he really "gets it", but he likes going "fast", so that's a good motivation to keep trying. :)

Counting to 10!!!

Our big boy can count to 10 all by himself! I've had him repeat after me lots of times for both numbers and letters, but on this day, he was just playing with all these little seed pods and started counting them! I miraculously got him to say all the numbers except for "7" on video - I think he did all 10 once before I got the camera out, but any other attempt after this yielded pretty dismal and distracted results. :P

Starting to "Sing"

This video is very much a "Grandma" video, in that there's not too much going on, but it helps you get a feel for Luke beginning to sing along with songs. Up to now, he usually is very quiet when I'm singing, or when his music is playing, but now, he's starting to try to sing also. I'll definitely work on getting a better video when he sings a whole song by himself, but so far, this is progress, and it's sure cute!

First Pony Ride!

Luke did SUCH a good job riding the ponies at Lombardi's! He cried at the scariness of leaving Daddy to be picked up by a stranger to be placed on the horse. But once he was up there, he quickly composed himself and did so well Nathan didn't have to stay with him like I assumed he would have to. He smiled several times and was very curious about the whole thing. The first time around in the video, he is focused on cousin, Lauren, riding behind him and says "hi" to her several times. :P The second time around, he was distracted by something in the distance (possibly the police van he liked to climb inside of). But, eventually, I got a picture of him looking at me with a small grin on his face - you can see that in my blog post about it.

Bicycle

Luke is doing better at trying to push the pedals on his bicycle! He still needs significant "help" from a slight downhill grade to the sidewalk to make it work - but you can see that he is pushing the pedals. Just needs more muscle and motivation! :) Good progress, Luke!

Blowing Bubbles!

I think this is the first time Luke's actually been successful at blowing bubbles! He actually blew hard enough to blow and detach a bubble from the want, but on camera, we only managed to catch these "almost-bubbles". Before, his blowing was never strong enough to do much of anything. :)

Birthday Noisemaker

My mom showed Luke how to use one of those birthday noisemakers when we were celebrating Matt's birthday. Luke did really well!

Colors Book

This is my mom going through the book "she" bought for Luke. I was impressed with how well he articulated the names of the colors! And, when they go back through all the pages in the book, he even remembered what some of them were without being prompted! It's probably mostly context at this point, since he usually just says whatever color is stuck in his brain at the time. But, I think (as of posting this a few weeks later) that he has actually figured out brown for sure! He knows and loves his brown playdough, brown shoes, and the stripes in one of my shirts. :)

Twinkle Twinkle Dance

Luke has a unique dance for "Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star". It's the first song that starts off the set of demo songs on his keyboard, and he always does this cute little slow dance with his pointer fingers sticking up. You'll notice as the video progresses, that he has different dances for the other songs. Very cute!

Silly Dancing

This morning, Luke started going nuts dancing to the music or beat on his electric keyboard. For awhile, he was be-bopping on the ground, sitting in front of the keyboard - first swaying back and forth and then kicking his legs. Then it graduated to standing up and kicking his legs around while holding onto the playpen. Eventually, by the time I dared bring out the camera, he had settled on dancing in circles in the middle of the room. This of course makes him dizzy. :P Then, he found his lego kitty and enjoyed making her "fly"! Such a cute, silly little boy!

ABCs and 123s!

I finally got a video of Luke saying all his letters and numbers! He struggles a bit with "W" and "7" because they are more than one syllable, but other than that, he does really well! I guess the next step is to get him to be better at recognizing them, not just repeating after me. :)

Figuring out Legos!

I just started making these single block towers out of legos for something to do while Luke "played" with them - which is usually quite unconventional. Then, he noticed what I was making, grabbed one, and was actually quite good at putting it on this house thing that I had made during a previous playtime! It seemed to help to have something more substantial for his hand to grip. Keep your ear open for him saying "Here you go, Mommy" - that's one of his new favorite phrases - so cute!

Oh, and the whole "upside down" thing in this video - I thought he would know what I was talking about because I say, "No, that's upside down" all the time when he's working with his puzzles and he'll turn the piece around and get it in the spot correctly. Well, he was rotating these towers around, thinking that's what I meant - he didn't quite get that they needed to be flipped over. Eventually though, in this play session, after demonstrating what I meant, he actually started to figure it out - and even turned them over without any prompting a few times! :)

Saying "Mommy" and Other Words

Joanna reminded me that I should get a video of Luke saying "Mommy", which he has only been saying for the past couple weeks. He used to call me "Mee". I threw in a few more words here, too, just for fun.

Playdough

We finally invested in some playdough toys so that there would be something more interesting to do with it than just poke it and make shapes with your hands (Luke can't do the latter yet anyway). He really enjoyed using this toy that makes thick spaghetti strips. I love the times he's working at it so hard that he sticks his tongue out. :P

Slip 'n Slide

After Luke had sufficient time to recover from the shock of the water slide, he expressed interest in trying the slip 'n slide! So, Nathan pushed him down the slide a few times - this video captures the first two and you can already see the growing enjoyment as he gets used to it. After he's done, he says "more". :)

Waterslide Trauma

Luke was so brave to try the waterslide that all the cousins were doing! Unfortunately, the shock of COLD water at the bottom, was a little too much for him. Poor thing. :(

"More Rice"

Probably my favorite video of Luke at the moment! Such a cute phrase - and the way he looks so proud of being able to say it is just precious!

Wednesday, July 29, 2009

Animal Books

This is pretty typical of when we go through this farm animals book library my parents got Luke. He finally has something to say for almost every book (the bunnies are still pretty uninteresting, although we actually see bunny rabbits occasionally near the bushes outside of our building!). Pretty cute, if I do say so myself!

Luke in a Cute Hat

Luke had been wearing his hat for a few minutes this one afternoon and seemed comfortable in it, so when we went to his room for a moment, I secretly set up the camera on the side table to try to get a video of him wearing his hat. The moment he comes into the room, he sees the camera and starts talking about it. Amazingly enough, he didn't quickly take off his hat, which is what he usually does when he sees the camera while he's wearing one, but just made me admit that I did in fact turn the camera on - then he was cool. :P I also got footage of him catching a little ball, but mostly this video is to celebrate the cuteness that is Luke in a hat!

Talking in his Cup

Here, Luke is being silly with his empty water cup. He also does some talking. I don't know what he's saying at the time, but now I know that when he was saying "eye" and pointing to the camera, he was talking about the "light" on the camera. :)

Saying "Wheel"

Luke just learned how to say "wheel" here, and I think it sounds so CUTE!

Birthday Stickers

I finally found a good time to let Luke play with these fun construction truck stickers that came in his birthday card from his Uncle Andrew & Aunt Heidi. He enjoyed taking them off of the sheet and sticking them wherever - usually NOT on the card, where there's this whole blank space for him to work with. He even put them on his motorcycle!

Catching the Ball

Quick clip of Luke catching the ball - this is all I could get without him noticing the camera and freaking out. :(

First Time Ice Skating

Luke needed to be held up the entire time he was on the ice, but he seemed to enjoy it for the most part. :)

Riding the Dune Buggy

Luke's riding the dune buggy ride outside of the miniature golf place at Lake Tahoe. Now that he's had that experience, he's constantly wanting to "ride" all of the cars/tractors/motorcycles/any vehicle that are in his books. :)

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

Pushing the Stroller

While we were on vacation, we took a little hike to a place where you can see fish swimming underwater. On the way back to the car, we let Luke walk some, and he decided he wanted to push the stroller. Since it was the little umbrella stroller, he did a pretty good job - needs to work on his steering a bit, though. :)

Saturday, July 11, 2009

Race Track II

Here's a second race track video showing how he figured out how to play with it all by himself. He likes to put the cars on the wrong color track and say his silly "nooooooo", then move them to the track they match. It's not on the video, but he now also likes to purposely put a car on the wrong color track, then come along with the car of the right color and push the wrong car off with it! Silly boy.

Maloney Names

Here's a shout out to our Maloney family - Luke is attempting to say your names! Very fun! He also rocks to one of his songs (literally), and I cut out some of that since it was just more of the same - you get the idea. ;)

Thursday, July 9, 2009

Using Scissors!

Luke has been interested in my cross-stitching scissors for awhile, but has never been allowed to play with them. This day, I realized he might actually be old enough to be somewhat responsible with them in the right environment, so we had his first "scissors craft". He still needs two hands to open the scissors, but really enjoys the thrill of the cut!

Monday, July 6, 2009

Race Track

We rationed out when Luke's new birthday presents first got played with so that the fun would last more than one day. :P This is a fun little race track that Grandpa & Grandma Hughes got for him - I think he likes it!

Sunday, July 5, 2009

More Bike Riding

We went out again to play with Luke's bicycle that Sunday, and the lighting in this other location was much better than our first ride. So, I got more video and pictures here. :)

Saturday, July 4, 2009

Fourth of July Slide

Just thought this was cute of Luke doing the slide in the Hughes' backyard all by himself.

First Ride on his Bicycle

New Bicycle!

We didn't have time to give Luke his new bicycle on his actual birthday, so the next morning, we got it ready with a rolling camera, and caught his first reactions on video. Unfortunately, it was not as dramatic and enthusiastic as I was hoping for, but I could still tell he really liked it. :)

Thursday, July 2, 2009

Happy Birthday, Luke!

First Time at the Beach

We took Luke to the beach for his 2nd Birthday, and he LOVED it!!! He enjoyed the sand, but he REALLY liked the water! He would have stayed out there a lot longer if we didn't make him get out occasionally to warm back up (even though it's So Cal - the ocean water here is still cold!). The first part of this video is his first time in the water. The second part is where Nathan is teaching him to "chase the waves". :)

Birthday Toys

We let Luke open a few gifts the morning of his birthday before heading to the beach. Among those gifts & cards was this stuffed cow from his Uncle Andrew & Aunt Heidi and a bus book from us. He was happily carrying them around for a while after that - very cute!

Friday, June 26, 2009

Going down the Stairs

Luke has finally mastered the skill of going down the stairs all by himself! He has to hold onto the railing, but really enjoys being independent. This video was taken when he was still pretty new at it, so I'm a lot more nervous being farther away from him in this video than I am now. Now, I can comfortably be 4 or 5 steps down from him, and I rarely need to hold out my hand to "spot" him. :)

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

Playing the Violin

Whenever I tried to get a video of Luke playing his toy violin that my parents got him for his birthday, he would whine and stop playing with it. So, when I heard him playing with it in the other room, I snuck up and sat it on the counter next to me - he had no clue that it was there. :) Now, the violin is usually in his playpen and I often hear him playing with it when he's in there during playpen time. :)

Tuesday, June 2, 2009

Running!

I believe Luke is on a sugar-high right now from some of Nathan's birthday cake! I got out the camera because when he would emerge from our bedroom and run past the filing cabinet, he would be looking sideways at us as he ran straight ahead - because he knew we would be watching him. Unfortunately, he wouldn't do that for the camera. Oh well - it's still amazingly cute to watch him running and happy!

Rocks

Just some "backyard" cuteness - showing me his rocks and saying the word "two" - at this point, he has a month to learn that word and how to hold up his two fingers when someone asks how old he is!

Monday, June 1, 2009

Guitar

Here's Luke inspecting Nathan's new guitar that he got for his birthday/Father's Day. :)

Tennis Lesson

Here's a quick video of Nathan teaching Luke how to hit a tennis ball. :)

More Bubble Cuteness

Throwing the Frisbee

We brought home these little mini discs as favors from my sister's wedding (they met while disc golfing, so there was some putting competitions during the reception), and Luke must have learned how to throw them just from watching us at the wedding. He's got the swing action figured out - now he just needs to work on aiming and follow-through. :P

Wednesday, May 27, 2009

Truck on the Patio

Here's a peak at our cool evenings on the patio every once in awhile. Luke LOVES this dump truck - he often wants it to go across the patio with something riding in the back - his motorcycle, rocks, chalk, you name it!

Tuesday, May 26, 2009

Wiping off Dirt

So, I was teaching Luke how to rub his hands together to get the dirt off of his hands (instead of wiping them on his clothes, me, or something else inappropriate). He took that to be an excuse to pick up lots of new dirt so that he could practice! Cute boy.

Thursday, May 21, 2009

Feeding the Ducks

While in Oregon, we went to a park where lots of ducks like to congregate. Eventually, Luke really got into the throwing bread stuff. :)

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

Playing the Organ

Here's Luke getting his first "organ lesson" at my parent's house in Oregon!

Tuesday, May 19, 2009

Stickers

Luke learning to use stickers - he likes it, but definitely isn't "organized" about it. :P

Monday, May 18, 2009

Tree Climber

This is the tree that Luke likes to "climb" outside after we get the mail.

Silliness

The beginning of this video shows some cute playing that Luke did for awhile with his little stuffed animals - he'd "walk" them along the rail of his playpen and make this silly noise for them. :P

Most of the video is of him climbing up onto his ottoman and going through the "Pat the Bunny" book - very fun. :)

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Big Stick

Think this is was Teddy Roosevelt meant when he said "Walk softly and carry a big stick"? :P

Playground Master

Here is another playground area that Luke has "mastered". This one is taller, too, so Mommy was more nervous - but Luke did great!

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

Ringing the Doorbell

Luke is finally tall enough and strong enough to ring the doorbell all by himself!

Mall Scooter

Here's another cute experience during that trip to the mall. Lots of fun can be had at the toy store when there are 5 adults to 2 kids (me, my in-laws, brother-in-law & his mom watching Luke & Evelyn).

Mall Truck

We went to the mall one morning with some family and Luke got to ride in some of the little vehicles they have there. He doesn't even need me to spend money to turn on the "ride" part of them - he's perfectly content to just sit inside, turn the steering wheel & push the buttons! ;)

Sunday, May 10, 2009

Chasing Bubbles

Cute little guy (and kitty!) chasing bubbles! Sorry it's sideways - Nathan was filming and doesn't know that videos can't be flipped over.

Saturday, May 9, 2009

Whistle Blowing

Luke really enjoyed this little "whistle"/noisemaker thingy that he got in a party favor bag from cousin Evelyn's birthday party. He's also *really* close to being able to climb up on our couch easily by himself.

Friday, April 24, 2009

Thomas Clapping

Luke thought it was great fun when I would whistle the tune to the "Thomas the Train" show - which was understandably stuck in my head after watching it over and over! He even would clap when I finished! :)

Monday, April 20, 2009

Zoo Game

Here is a short clip showing how Luke's online computer zoo game is shaping up. He now likes to have all of his animals with him (from the play mat that is from the same company as the online game) and will usually match them up to the animal on the screen. So cute!

Saturday, April 18, 2009

Throwing Football

Luke did a pretty good job throwing this soft football of Nathan's. Sometimes he would just drop it behind his head and sometimes he would kick it, but at least he was having fun!

Friday, April 17, 2009

Goldfish laughing

Luke got a kick out of pretending to offer me his goldfish. The silly things we're willing to do to make them laugh. Unfortunately, this has only led to incessant demands to give me his snacks - ugg - what did I start? :P

Riding Thomas the Train!

Easter Egg Hunt

Hunting for Easter eggs in Grandma's backyard!

Opening Present

Here's Luke opening the Easter book that Grandma Hughes got him on Good Friday. He loved the curly ribbon!

Friday, April 3, 2009

Saying "Kitty"

I was so excited when Luke started saying an early form of "kitty" when he saw the cat in his "first words" book. I was even MORE excited, when he ran into the other room and proceeded to point to Cinnamon to say "kitty"! And back and forth - he not only could say the word, he was putting it together in his mind!

Walking Home

A typical time walking home from getting the mail with me in the afternoon. :)

Wednesday, April 1, 2009

Playground

We try to make it to the church's park playgroup once a week now that Luke is active & climbing. We rotate which park we meet at every month, and I think it's great when Luke figures out a new piece of playground equipment enough to do it without any help from me. Unfortunately, he's not *quite* there with this one. He could totally do it himself, but he kept going up on this additional step then would get scared and not be able to get back down without a hand. He eventually learned how do it on his own. :)

Sunday, March 29, 2009

Tennis!

I thought it was so cute how Luke just giggled and ran around while we were playing tennis together as a family for the first time. So, I set the camera up and let it roll for a few minutes to capture that. I cut the footage to only include sequences with Luke in the frame since he would occasionally walk out of view - and really, who wants to focus on how badly I play tennis? :P

Thursday, March 26, 2009

Computer Game

This is kind of long, but it helps you see what this game was like for Luke at this time - some cute sounds and reactions. He only has his yak in hand, because that was his favorite animal of the set for awhile. :)

Monday, March 23, 2009

Silly Lips

I think this might be the first time Luke's done this with his lips. At the very least, it's the first time caught on camera. :P

Friday, March 20, 2009

Shooting at Cinnamon

Luke has figured out how to shoot this dart gun that my sister Jennifer got Nathan for Christmas. I love how he actually manages to hit Cinnamon with it! Also - note at the end that he can reload the dart, and then expects to be able to shoot her again. Unfortunately, he doesn't know how to pump more air into it, so I still have to help him complete the reloading process. :)

Playing

Nathan wanted me to document this again, since it's just so cute and unique. Here's Luke riding his toy cement truck (NOT it's intended purpose), and then moving on to his lion and then climbing onto the couch to chase Cinnamon. :)

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

Identifying Animals!

Even though he's not talking all that much, Luke can identify almost all of the 26 little animals from his zoo!

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

Helping with the Laundry

Luke is quickly becoming a little helper with the laundry these days! He can take the clothes out of his hamper and put them into the washer all by himself - and enjoys it!

Friday, February 27, 2009

Running in the Grass

So cute!

Playing Outside

Just a cute video of Luke playing outside. He had been saying a cute "Oh" after getting stuck on his belly when leaning over the short wall, but he wouldn't do it for the camera. :)

Conquering the Playground!

The last time we were at the park a few weeks ago, I had to help Luke up the stairs and stay with him on the play equipment the entire time (while I was surrounded by hoards of toddlers). :P

This time, he had since gained significant progress on climbing stairs and along with that - considerable confidence in general. So, I didn't have to go onto the play equipment at all this time! I have pieced together three videos that show a general progression through this particular piece of equipment. The bridge clip was technically taken first, but since it sits between the stairs and the slide on the equipment, it made more sense to place it in the middle. Now imagine Luke doing this over and over again once he figured out how to go down the slide!

Tuesday, February 24, 2009

Throwing the Ball

Pretty fun video of him running around the house and throwing his new soccer ball. :)

Thursday, February 19, 2009

Stairs

Now that he's more confident on stairs, he wants to practice ALL THE TIME! He can finally go up them by himself, so that makes it all the more exciting. :)

Friday, February 13, 2009

Putting on His Hat

Just thought this was cute. :)

Thursday, February 12, 2009

Walking in Daddy's Shoe

Just cuteness at how small and curious Luke is compared with Daddy's large shoes. :)

Wednesday, February 11, 2009

Body Parts!

This is the video I've been waiting to capture!!! It hasn't ever been good timing or appropriate setting (bathtub, etc.) for a video before. So, he's been able do do most of these for quite some time now, but it's finally immortalized for all to see!

Friday, February 6, 2009

Climbing Stairs

We spent the day with some friends and this is the first time we've had access to carpeted, indoor stairs for Luke to try climbing on his own. He managed to make quick work of figuring it out! As it is, he wasn't as interested in going up the stairs when I got my camera out (he had already climbed to the very top on his own), but learned how to make his way back DOWN the stairs just as I was filming. Cool, huh?

Wednesday, February 4, 2009

"Hi"

Here's Luke saying "Hi" to Cinnamon where he found her in the window. This is one of his favorite words lately. :)

"Fishes"

Luke started saying "fishes" when referring to Goldfish crackers. I'm guessing they must call them this in the toddler room at church, because I had always referred to them as "goldfish". Cute anyway!

Chasing Cinnamon

This video is so happy! I can't help but laugh when Luke laughs!

(Oh, and the candles on the carpet are spots where I was treating some stains, courtesy of Cinnamon.)

Climbing Onto the Couch

Luke had been getting frustrated with himself about not being able to climb onto the couch. So, I would sometimes hold up his knee to give him leverage to make it all the way. Then, it occured to me, that we had the little step stool that I bought for future potty training days. So I brought that out, and now he is so happy to be able to get up and down all by himself! He's using his head a little more than usual in this video - I think he was watching his feet for some reason. :)

Spinning Driedal

This driedal was in Luke's stocking from Grandma Hughes - he LOVES it! Especially once he figured out how to push the button himself. He can't twist it on by himself, so that's still my job. This video is edited to show just the parts where he's setting it off and laughing - the times in between when I'm prepping it are pretty boring. Although, I kept in a part at the end because it shows how cute he looks walking on the couch. :)

Riding his Cement Truck

Luke loves to ride this cement truck - which is totally not meant to be ridden. For awhile, he would sit on it and get really upset when he couldn't make it go, but he has now figured out how to "ride" it and is quite pleased with himself. :)

Walking on the Ramp

We went to Hart Park to check on the status of the petting zoo construction and Luke discovered this ramp! He went up and down SO MANY TIMES - we actually had to pry him away to go home. :)

Eating Cereal - Doing Great!

An updated bit of Luke eating cereal with milk - he's doing so well!

Doorway Crossing

This is one of Luke's favorite activities recently: going in and out of our front door over and over and over...

Throwing Light-Up Ball

He really likes this ball that I got for his stocking. It lights up when it bounces. :)

Riding Lion

He's getting really good at riding his lion.

Launching animals

This piece of Luke's new animal sounds zoo has a part that lets you launch off the animals (probably not it's intended purpose, but hey). Luke thought it was hilarious - especially when accompanied by my sound effects. He could never get the animals to actually jump in the air when he did it, so I usually helped.
