Wake Up, Rachel!

It was super funny that Jonathan thought Rachel was always sleeping (which was often the case), even when she was crying.  Here, he's telling her to "Wake up!" even though it's clear she is quite awake.  I suppose, in his defense, her eyes are squinted shut more when she's crying.  :)

Maraca Colors

Jonathan was saying all the colors that flash on this electronic maraca toy.  By the time I got out my camera, he had lost interest somewhat, but he still stays a few here.  :)

Washing Machine Help

Jonathan helping me load the washing machine.  I usually just throw the clothes over the balcony, then load them in off the floor, but with a 7-1/2 month pregnant belly, that's getting harder to do.  :)

Dishwasher Helper

Slide

We went to the park to play with some of Luke's school friends and Jonathan loved this slide - he went down it over and over!

Corn on the Cob

Jonathan is very focused on his corn on the cob.  He's doing great eating it for the first time!

Leap Frog Dance

Jonathan loved bopping to his new Leap Frog toy.  Such a cutie!  This went on pretty consistently for a few days.  :P

Soccer Goal

Luke making a goal during a drill in soccer class.  He had kicked it from pretty far away, but it stopped short, so here he's running up to finish the job!

Tricycle Chase

When it was Luke's turn to try out Jonathan's new tricycle, the boys had fun running around the patio chairs with Luke chasing Jonathan.

Birthday presents

A couple of the presents we got Jonathan for his 2nd birthday: "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" for our little letter lover, and a tricycle.

Happy Birthday Song

Singing the "Happy Birthday" song with Jonathan!  He LOVES singing this, and now it gets to be for him!  Happy 2nd birthday, Jonathan!

Saying the Alphabet

Jonathan knows almost all his letters, and he's not even two years old!  This is mostly all his interest - maybe he'll be more interested in reading at an early age than Luke was.  :)

Mother's Day program

Giggling with Great-Grandpa

This was so cute to watch.  Jonathan would run giggling to Great Grandpa and get a hug before walking away, turning around and doing it all over again... and again...

18 Month Talking

Jonathan saying a couple words - "Hi" and "Go, Go, Go".  I kept asking him to smile for the camera for his 18 month "photo shoot" and he kept saying "Hi".  So I figured, why not just get a little video of him talking to go along with the pictures.  :)

Straight No Chaser

I got to go to a Straight No Chaser concert with the girls!  Pretty cool - definitely better in person than this video can relate, but it's a little reminder of a fun night.  :)

Tractor ride

The boys discovered it was fun for Jonathan to sit in the trailer of this tractor and have Luke ride him around.  Very cute!

Laughing

Dart Gun

Jonathan figured out how to shoot the dart gun, and I love the giggles he makes when he gets it right!

Building a Tower

Jonathan does really well building a block tower all by himself!

Harmonica Player

Jonathan kept getting really shy of the camera, but he was doing well playing the harmonica!  It reminded me of when Luke was first able to play it.  :)

Teddy Bear Parade

Luke's preschool did a "Teddy Bear Parade", where they decorated a shoe box and brought their favorite stuffed animal to ride inside during a "parade" around the courtyard.  Luke brought "Baby Kitty", who is his absolute favorite.  That particular day, Luke's teacher got called away by a sickness emergency from one of her kids and the parade was supervised by other helpers - I'm not positive, but I'm guessing that's why it ended up more like a "Teddy Bear RACE"!  :)

Sliding

Jonathan has this slide in his Sunday School classroom at church, too, so he's had a bit of practice.  I was quite impressed with how well he maneuvered his little body.  The hardest thing he had to do was get his feet out from under him while wearing shoes.  :)

Airplane Ride

Jonathan rides the new airplane teeter-totter by himself for the first time.  He seems to like it!  I believe it's Uncle Matt making it go so carefully up and down - wouldn't trust many of the cousins with that responsibility.  :)

Standing Up

A typical baby movement that Luke never learned due to his un-proportionately large head, was standing up from sitting like this.  Jonathan demonstrates!

Crawling up the Stairs

Jonathan loves to climb up the stairs.  He'd done this many times before, but this is the first video of it.  He has a tendency to get sidetracked by picking up fuzz and bits of kitty litter out of the cracks.  :P

Walking!

Jonathan finally decided walking was the way to go!  Here he's walking all the way through the kitchen - go, Jonathan!

Shoulder Dance

Jonathan is always in his saucer when he watches shows, so that I can keep him contained.  Because of that, he's developed a "shoulder dance" that he especially does during the final song of "Busytown Mysteries".  It's super cute - I figured I should make sure to capture it before he stops doing it.

Flying Chex

Proof that he's all boy: Jonathan started making flying noises and actions with his Chex cereal at breakfast time!

Throwing the ball

Jonathan really got into throwing/rolling the ball back and forth with me!  I love his excited expressions.  And he's remarkably accurate most of the time.  :)

Unloading the Dishwasher

Helping unload the dishwasher is one of Luke's jobs.  He'll put away everything that is in the cupboards or drawers that he can reach.  This particular time, Jonathan came over to help and actually ended up doing a good job!  I don't think this has ever been re-created, but it was cute while it lasted.  :)

Jaguar Walking Around

It was fun to see the jaguar at the zoo up and active!  You can also hear Jonathan trying to say "jaguar" in the background.  :)

Laughing in the Swing

I think he was laughing harder than this, but at least I captured some of it on video.  Such a happy guy.  :)

Using a Spoon

Jonathan is starting to experiment with using a spoon.  He's probably behind some other babies his age, but it took him awhile to EAT chunky foods, let alone be interested enough in them to want to pick them up with a spoon.  :P  But, he seemed more interested in this dinner when he could practice with the spoon, so it was fun to let him try.

Riding His Bike

Here's Luke riding his new bike.  He goes REALLY slow, so if he loses focus on what he's doing, he'll come to a stop and have a hard time starting again.  :P  But, practice makes perfect!
